Sparkyard And KS2 SATs

Singing doesn’t just boost confidence and teamwork, it can also be a powerful tool for learning and revision. Singing your maths and English topics can help take the pressure off and boost memory and recall at the same time! We’ve put together a list of super catchy (and also fact-packed!) songs to help your class ace their SATs!

12 Times Table

To kick off, we’ve got a 12-times-table tune to get you going!  Don’t worry, we’ve also got songs for the other slightly trickier times tables (7, 8 and 9) to make them a bit less intimidating to your class!

Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives

Nouns, verbs and adjectives have never been so memorable, and with spoken sections calling out the different parts of speech at the right time, this song will really embed the learning in a fun way. As a bonus, the optional harmony line is easy to learn and really fun to sing!

The Shape Song

With some clever ways of remembering the different shape names, this song will have you spotting your nonagons and heptagons in no time at all!

The Adverb Song

Packed full of exciting adverbs to pepper your writing with, this song not only explains what adverbs are, but also gives lots of examples of how to use them.

Angles

Packed full of right angles, obtuse angles, acute angles, half turns and full turns, this fabulous song will have you familiar with all sorts of angles in no time at all!

Subordinate Clause

A great little revision jingle to consolidate subordinate-clause classwork: ‘I don’t make sense on my own.

Perimeter-ter-ter!

High-energy and full of punchy rhythms, this short revision jingle is perfect for remembering how to find the perimeter of a 2D shape – ‘just add up all the sides’!

Perfect Punctuation (Punctuating Speech)

A fabulously upbeat and accessible song to get children thinking about how to punctuate speech and conversation in the correct way: ‘When we write speech and conversation we should use perfect punctuation.’

All of this and more can be found in the KS2 Curriculum Crunchers: Maths and KS2 Curriculum Crunchers: English songbooks and in Sparkyard. We also have a fantastic ‘SATs Week Wellbeing Collection’ to help your class reset, stay positive and have some fun during a busy week.

So, let’s make revision the highlight of your class’s day and sing your way through SATs! Good luck!
